For years, I have looked for ways to store my family's DVD collection. Currently, it takes up four shelves in my entertainment center. Plus, my daughter has stacks of them in her room that spill over onto the floor once the stack gets too high. And, now, my daughter likes to get into the cabinets in the entertainment center and play with the DVD boxes. So, every day I am left restacking, reorganizing, and sorting the mess. We have DVDs all over the place, and we actually have DVDs that we can't find. It has finally gotten so bad that I am ready for a change... NOW!!! So, imagine my excitement when I saw a post about this issue on I Heart Organizing. After viewing this post, a smile immediately appeared on my face! I printed the tutorial off, purchased some DVD sleeves off of Amazon, purchased some boxes from Hobby Lobby, and made it happen.
The boxes were on sale for 1/2 off. Originally, they were $15.99 each. So, I purchased two for the price of one. The DVD sleeves were $29.98 for a set of 50. I will need another two sets, but 50 was a nice start.I am pretty proud of my newly organized DVD collection. I plan on purchasing the same boxes in pink for my daughter's room.
The before.
Can you tell my daughter has been in this cabinet?
The after.
I plan on alphabetizing them too!
Much better!!! The DVDs on the bottom shelf are either box sets (which will take
more than one sleeve a piece, so I need more sleeves), someone else's DVDs,
or a few empty boxes I kept.
Happy Organizing,
