At the beginning of January, we decided to create a kitchen nook in our kitchen that included shelves and a cabinet with a counter. Here is the sketch I created in Excel...
After a lot of thought, my husband & I decided that it may be a little too much for us to tackle on our own, especially since we do not have the proper tools to cut and construct wood products. So, we asked the awesome vocational school in our school district to create this little jewel for us. And, let me say, they did a fantastic job! For $200.00, we got exactly what we wanted. Can't beat that!!!
The before
Notice the wasted space?!?!
After taking out the bench, picture, and kitchen table.
One more view.
The after
A view from the front.
A view from the side.
A look inside the cabinets. Look at all that space!!!
And, now, a look with a few of my favorite items already
placed on the shelves and counter top. I have a lot more space to fill!!!
One more view.
I love that all of my dining room platters & dishes can now be housed here.
We have a few small things to do to this piece, but nothing major at all. We are super happy with the outcome of this project.
Now, since we have all the dining room stuff out of the soon-to-be office, we can paint!!! Guess what I will be doing over spring break?!?!
Happy Creating,

OMG! Thats perfect!
