What Do I Want My Blog To Be When It Grows Up?

The whole concept of the link party is for contributors to state their "5" goals for their blog in 2012, so here are mine...


When I saw this awesome link idea, it got me thinking about my goals for my blog and the path I am traveling down. The individuals that have been around since the beginning (May 2011) know that this blog used to be called Kristin's Notebook. I changed the name in January of this year because I wanted a more focused theme. At the beginning, I was writing about everything from personal issues to my favorite movies and everything in between. I looked at the traffic I had on each post and the ones that received the most traffic were the ones that were centered around organization or decorating. So, The O.C.D. Life was created! I love the name, I love the path I am heading down, and it is truly something that I getting extremely excited about. Yes, this crazy girl gets giddy about cute and awesome storage boxes!

So, without further ado, here is what I want my little blog TO BE!!!

1) To Be...

I want people to visit my pages, view my posts and get motivated to organize their life, decorate their home, or even attempt something they have never attempted before (DIY projects). I think a lot of times, we are timid about thinking outside the box and creating something awesome. I would love for people to be inspired to take that old chair that is sitting in the corner of their room collecting dust and make it into something that they love. If you have never put up one Valentine's Day decoration, I would love for you to think about changing that after viewing my blog. I just want to put that little spark in your eye and help create that awesome light bulb moment!!!

2) To Be...  

I want people to visit my blog and want to come back for more. Having loyal followers is what keeps your blog growing and flourishing. And, it pushes me to create better blog posts. I am actually a loyal follower of several blogs, and I will literally sit and wait for them to post something new everyday. I get so excited to see what new information they have in store for us. I want others to feel that way about my blog and posts too.

3) To Be...

It is all about grabbing people's attention. I try to use bright & colorful fonts, fun font styles, and cute layouts so people feel that my blog is a fun place to visit. I want people to immediately love what they see and feel welcome. And the end of their visit, I want their experience to put a smile on their face!

4) To Be...

Attracting the attention of sponsors requires the full package; from layout to graphics to content. I want to write informative posts that attract the attention of people who want to sponsor what I have to say. That is going to be a long road, but I feel like I am on the right path.

5) To Be...

A lot of times, I feel like I am misunderstood! This conversation has been a constant one in my household for several months now. Sometimes, I feel like when people see me for the first time, I seem unapproachable. And, that is not the case at all. I am a determined, hardworking, and dedicated person that is usually on a mission if you see me out and about. So, my demeanor may come across as harsh, but I really just have my mind somewhere else. This blog, to me, is how I see myself. I can convey how I feel in words better than actions at times. I am a fun-loving, kind, and caring person that loves bright colors and organization.  After leaving my blog, I want people to know exactly the type of person I am on the inside. : )
