It is almost that time!!! Excitement is written all over my face. I have never been so excited to grab a paintbrush and slap some paint on a wall. So, today, I am saying goodbye to our dining room and hello to our new office!!!
And, here is the scene in the last couple of months, which has caused this O.C.D. girl a lot of pain. LOL!!!
And, now, to the point of this post. : ) Here is the layout for our new office.
1 - Craft/Creating/Printing Station: We are purchasing the cabinets below & a countertop from Lowe's to create a workstation just for all of my craft stuff and my husband's football videotaping, copying, and printing things. We are painting the cabinets Sherwin Williams' Dover White and the countertop will be a Formica White from Lowe's.
#1 - The Azar Acrylic Pegboard (around $100.00 all together)
#2 - 60 inch. Unfinished Base Sink Cabinet from Lowe's ($159.00)
2 - His & Her Desks - After much thought and deliberation, we have decided to put our desks together. By doing this, we were able to create the craft/printing station (shown above) for our craft supplies, football supplies, shredder, printer, Cricut, and scanner. For the desk section, we will purchase:
2 - 18 inch Unfinished Door & Drawer Base Cabinets ($82.00 each)
1 - 30 inch Unfinished Door & Drawer Base Cabinet ($122.00 each)
1 - Formica White Countertop (around $95.00)
We will also paint these cabinets Sherwin Williams' Dover White!
3 & 4 - Bookcases - This wall will house the Carson 5-Shelf bookcases ($109.00 each); one for me and one for my husband.
5. The Rug - After throwing around different rug ideas, we have decided to go with the Urban Outfitters Green Scalloped Rug. It is reasonably priced ($74.00), not too heavy, and just the style we were wanting for the space.
So, there you have it. After several months of planning, arranging, and rearranging, I FINALLY have a plan that we are going to stick to. I love the setup that I created and I am ready to get started. I am sure you are wondering why I am using "I" instead of "we" when I refer to the planning?!?! Well, my awesome husband left the whole thing up to me. He said he didn't care about the layout or what we bought for the room as long as I was happy. A star for him today on his cooperation and willingness to make me happy. He is awesome like that (insert smile).
Happy Creating,

Good Luck - can't wait to see the finished project :)
ReplyDeleteThank you bunches!!! ;)
DeleteRemember the entertainment stand in the living room and my bed room in college? My dad made those out of unfinished cabinets! Painted white! LoL
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot about that!!! After doing tons of research, building our own is going to be the cheapest and best looking way to go. And, not to mention, they will be well made. ;)
