Yesterday, I shared with y'all the start of my pegboard. Basically, the board is hung and a few things are on it, but there is a lot more to do. Today, I have added a few soup cans to the mix to hold markers, brushes, or some other crafting accessory.
Here is the soup can creation process... one picture at a time. ; )

After I used three soup cans that were identical sizes, I gently removed the wrappers and washed the cans. But, take note that I didn't immediately throw away the outside wrapper.
I used the wrapper as a guide for the scrapbook paper. It was my template!
Here are my three cleaned and naked soup cans, my three pieces of scrapbook paper, and the hooks that I plan on using to hang them on the pegboard.
Next, with a drill, I made a small hole in each can that the hook will go through. In order to eliminate the possibility of tearing the scrapbook paper, I drilled the hole before applying the paper to the outside.
Then, I used a hot glue gun to apply the scrapbook paper. I bought the scrapbook paper at Hobby Lobby for 50% off.
The last step was to apply some ribbon to the edges. I think it covers up any small flaws.
And, here is the final product hanging on my pegboard...
Now, I really need to work on the left side. LOL!!!

LOVE the soup cans on the peg board! So simple & cheap...not to mention pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I am glad you liked them. ; ) I can't wait to fill them with something. LOL!!!

Great idea with the soup cans! It's amazing what a little scrapbook paper can do to spruce up an ordinary item.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have an obsession with scrapbook paper now. I always have to hit up the scrapbook section at Hobby Lobby. LOL!!!
