A Special Bachelorette Party!

Over the weekend, I hosted my sister's bachelorette party, which was my big event for the wedding. I had a great time planning it and wanted to share a little bit of the night with everyone.

For my sister's invitations, I used Photoshop to create a 4x6 image that consisted of pink and zebra print. From the computer, they turned out great. So, I didn't think about them anymore until two weeks before the party when it was time to print them. Big mistake! Since I waited until the last minute to print them out, I didn't have any time to make corrections. Well, they ended up printing out kinda blurry. I accidentally made the card a 5x7 at first and had to go back and change the image size to a 4x6 and I think that had something to do with my issues. I learned a valuable lesson, though. Don't wait until the last minute to print something (you would think I knew that by now)!!!

I threw a white tablecloth over my kitchen table and made it the official food table for the evening.

I LOVE these mason jars! This was the must-have item for her party. I purchased the Ball 16 oz. mason jars from Wal-Mart, but you can also find them at Amazon.  The daisy stamped lids came from Cupcake Express. I purchased a set of 24 for $20.00. And for the straws, I actually had those in my cabinet already.

I used one of my trifle bowls to house the plastic silverware for the evening. The pink bedding underneath is tulle.

I made chocolate covered pretzels for one of my apothecary jars and purchased pink strawberry marshmallows for the other one.

And, you can't forget cute napkins! Did you know that Wal-Mart has a bachelorette party section?!?! I didn't either until about a month ago. I actually got these napkins on clearance in that section for $1.00 each.

I made princess punch for the party. And, I also put strawberry lemonade in my new drink dispenser. You can purchase this drink dispenser at Amazon or Sam's Club

The next thing I had was chocolate covered strawberries. And, just let me say that making these yummy treats are a lot messier than I remembered. I had chocolate all over me, the counter, and the floor.

And, the cake!!! I have a lady from my hometown that makes all of my cakes. She has made Kate's birthday cakes for the past 3 years, her christening cake, and she will also be making my sister's wedding cake. She is truly awesome!!!

One of the things that I had everyone do was to leave advice for Anna on a piece of decorated paper. I plan on taking these sheets and making her a collage for her home. I haven't quite decided how I am going to do this, but I will post about it when I make a decision. :)

Last (but not least), Anna had to add clothes pins to her clothing, hair, etc. every time she said the words, "Ian, Bahamas, or wedding." By the end of the night, she had eight. I must say, she did a lot better than I thought.

I think everyone had a great time! Now, we have less than 2 weeks to get the last minute things ready for her wedding. I hope my sister has a very special wedding day. It sure does go by fast! I can't believe my 5th year wedding anniversary is in July. Where did time go?

  3. Such a cute idea!! One question about your drink dispenser...did you have problems with it leaking at all? We purchased one for my son's birthday from bed bath & beyond and it leaked the whole time, making a gigantic mess:( I was able to return it, but would still like to find a new one. Let me know what you thought if you have a chance!

    1. Thank you so much! I used my dispenser for the first time on Saturday, and so far so good. I did some research before I purchased one. I am really scared it will leak, but it has two nice rubber washers on both sides of the casing. Keeping my fingers crossed! ; )
