July Challenge: Closets! (Week 2)

Welcome to week 2 of my July closet challenge. Last week, I showed y'all my husband's newly organized side of the master closet. And, I am happy to report that it still looks that clean. YAY!!! It is going to take a little bit longer to show my side because I am in the process of making a few changes. For some reason, I have more stuff than he does... Can you believe it?!?! LOL!!!

So, this week, I am taking everyone inside the playroom closet. Are you ready?!?!

Are you sure you are ready?!?! Brace yourself...

I swear this closet looked like a bomb exploded in it. As you can see, this was our "catch-all" closet. If we wanted something to be put up where we didn't have to see it, we placed it in this closet. Everything from door flags, Christmas decorations, gift wrapping, pictures, files, luggage, etc. got thrown into this closet.

And, don't forget the books on the top shelf...

Now, I will break down where it all went...

Books - some of the books we gave away and the rest went in the bottom of our entertainment center in the living room.

Luggage - my side of the master bedroom closet.

Christmas decorations - the attic.

Wrapping paper - the office.

Pictures - now neatly organized in their photo boxes.

And, here is a look at the newly organized playroom closet...

Now, the only things left in this closet include:

  • Gift boxes
  • Tulle
  • Wedding dress
  • Fire safe
  • files
  • Door flags
  • Hangers

I will slowly find places for these things in the next couple of months.

And, my daughter had to get her picture taken too. She actually wanted in every shot I took that day. I guess she was feeling photogenic, which is not like her at all. She is usually telling me not to take her picture.

I am sure there is a question that everyone is asking... Why am I not using this closet for toy storage or additional storage for my daughter? I know I would be asking that question if I was looking at this blog post. Well, I wanted to keep this closet cleaned out in case my husband and I decide to have a baby in the near future. Once that time comes, the playroom will be converted into a baby's room, which means this closet will belong to baby #2.

So, I am trying to keep it neat and tidy now!!!

Next week, I will take you into my daughter's closet. Stay tuned to see the organizing that took place in there.
