Mirror Mirror on the Wall!

This weekend, I started thinking about what changes I wanted to make in our bedroom. And, let me start by saying that me thinking is sometimes scary. I will move around furniture, look at it for a couple of hours, and then decide to change it again. I am honestly a "feel it" type of person. If I walk into the room and it doesn't feel right, then things must be changed. I have always been that way too! I can remember moving my bedroom furniture around many times when I was 13 years old trying to get the right look and feel.

So, at the moment, I have moved around our TV, ripped the backing off my bookcase, and I have a dresser that is just sitting there waiting for some TLC. I am trying to create a vision and sometimes visions don't happen over night. Or, at least for me they don't. LOL!!!

I actually did change one thing this weekend... one of my bedroom mirrors. Right now, my bedroom is really dark. We have dark furniture, tan walls, and dark bedding. So, I am going to attempt to lighten it up a little. First step was to attack the mirror...

The before

I placed a cut plastic bag on the mirror and taped it to avoid
paint getting on the surface.

I used Krylon white primer & satin white spray paint for this project.

Now, I just need to decide where this mirror is going in our bedroom! Stay tuned to see where my brain takes me with this room.

It's All About the {Office} Paint!

Over the past couple of months, I have loaded y'all down with pictures after pictures after pictures of what I wanted to do in our soon-to-be office. Well, I am FINALLY getting the chance to show you some actual progress. The painting is {possibly} complete (I will explain the possibly part later on in this post)! We have two coats of paint on the walls and we are now ready to start filling the room with office furniture and accessories.

So, without further ado, here is the first step in our dining room/office transformation...

The before

The process

after furniture removal...

We vacuumed all of the baseboards.

priming the walls...

My husband will love me for including him in a picture. ; )

The after

The tan wall on the left is in the entryway.

the garage entryway wall with two different types of lighting...

The archway going into the entryway...

the wall to the left of the window...

The ceiling...

Here is where the {possibly} part comes in to play... We decided to leave the red color
on our beveled ceiling. Since red is one of the three colors in our office, we thought
we would see if it adds a nice contrast once everything gets added to the room. If it doesn't
look right, we will repaint it repose gray as well.

The before & after

We are extremely happy with the outcome! Sorry that the pictures are not real vibrant. I noticed it was very hard to get really good lighting when you are taking a picture of a light color wall. : )

All of the painting is done and the desks have been ordered. Once our desks arrive and we get them set up, I will update everyone on our progress.

I hope everyone has a wonderful first week of May!!!

Happy Creating,

Friday Inspiration: Deck Decorating

Happy Friday everyone! We have almost made it to the end of April. Where did the month go? It seems like just yesterday I was having my daughter's birthday party and now we are about to enter the end of the school year.

Since I am so excited about my deck being built, I thought decorated decks would be the perfect choice for this week's Friday Inspiration. I hope you enjoy these awesome photos as much as I do. Have a wonderful weekend! : )

Happy Decorating,
