Big News!

We're Having a BABY!!!

My husband, daughter, and I will welcome a new member into our family around March 3, 2013. We are extremely excited, but I will definitely be glad when this 1st trimester is OVER!!! I would like to apologize for my absence these last couple of weeks. I have felt SO BAD (and still do) that I have barely gotten off my couch since the beginning of July.

My first pregnancy was wonderful! I had a little nausea and was extremely tired a lot, but that was it. It was a breeze!!! Crazy me assumed I would have this awesome pregnancy experience the second time around too. Boy, was I wrong.

I have had everything, but vomiting. Nausea, dizziness, loss of appetite, indigestion, heartburn, lack of focus, motion sickness, no energy at all, and above all... just the complete icky feeling. I am 8 weeks right now, and I sure hope I see a little light at the end of the tunnel soon. I am not one to sit around all day and do nothing, but that is what I have been forced to do these last couple of weeks. I have even had several emotional meltdowns because of it!!! I do not like to be dependent on others and that is what I have been forced to do.

I am lucky that I can lay on my couch and rest during this first trimester, but something has to give because I have to go back to work in the next two weeks. I want to be ready for the new school year and being in this state of mind I'm just not. So, I am hoping God works with me within the next couple of weeks.

Please bare with me through the next couple of weeks as I gradually work through this part of my pregnancy. I have so many projects that I am in the middle of completing and can't wait to share them with you. So, please don't unlike my blog or feel that I am slacking on posting because that is not the case at all.

Now, I am sure you are wondering if I want a boy or a girl... Well, this little mamma does not care. I just want the baby to be healthy. But, I think Team Blue is dominating this round... except with my daughter who is determined to have a baby sister.

Even though this blog isn't really about baby making, I will definitely share some of my baby moments with everyone because I have to get a room ready, organize, and prepare for baby #2's arrival.

Up next... I will share how we told our parents about their soon-to-be grandchild.

Friday Inspiration: Washi Tape Ideas!

Since I bought my first set of washi tape a couple of days ago, I thought I would research different ways of using this fun tape. The sky is the limit when it comes to being creative with this crafty item and I plan on purchasing a lot more in the near future (when I run across more awesome deals). I hope you find these ideas just as fun and exciting as I do. Have a wonderful weekend!!!

A Little Family Organization in the Kitchen!

Since posting my kitchen tour last week, I have realized that I REALLY need to fill that empty space beside the door coming from the garage. A couple of months ago, my framed clip board hung in that spot, but I thought it looked better in the office.

So, after this switch, this is what the kitchen wall looks like...

Not inviting at all!!! I am looking for a kind of catch-all station for this area. A place where each family member has a place to:
  • hang their coats/purses
  • place important papers and things for the next day
  • include some labels for each person
I love this space that Jen @ iheartorganizing created for her family...

I really want this Pottery Barn Organization Station for mail. Can also add a marker board for "todos".

Just like Jen chose, I have my eye on the Pottery Barn white daily system. You can mix and match this system, which means there are many options to choose from. And, here are a few of the options available...

And, here are the components available in white...

In my kitchen, I have my eye on...

2 - letter bins:
so each person in our household will have a space for papers, magazines, mail.

1 - office organizer:
for loose change, wallets, etc.

1 - chalkboard:
to write important information on.

This system is not cheap, so I will definitely have to purchase it piece-by-piece... unless, I can find a cheaper alternative that looks just as nice. I will keep you updated!!!

July Challenge: Closets! (Week 3)

Welcome to the third week of my July closet challenge. Last week, I showed y'all the playroom closet and week one, y'all got a look at my husband's side of the master closet. Today, it is all about my daughter's closet.

This was a huge undertaking. Like you all know, kids grow fast, so she had a ton of clothes that didn't fit and needed to get boxed and moved to the attic. We keep all of her clothes in case we have another daughter one day. So, you can only imagine what our attic looks like... three years worth of baby girl clothes. When we have another baby, we will feel like we won the attic lottery. It will leave a whole side completely vacant (insert happy face).

But, enough with my rambling, lets take a look at my daughter's closet.

The cleaning-out process

The first set of clothes that are going in the attic.

Sorting hangers, tutus, hats, etc.

All of the extra hangers that will go in the playroom closet.

More sorting... with my daughter's help.

Stage 1 complete!

A little step back!

At the moment, I am working on labels for the front of the bins, so you can tell what is in each bin. I should have that post real soon!

The Kitchen Tour!

Sorry it has taken me so long, but I am FINALLY getting around to posting pictures of my kitchen. Keep in mind that my kitchen isn't completely finished, but whose is, right?!?! LOL!!! I am still in the process of finding some kitchen rugs, table linens, and I would LOVE to purchase some new chairs. Unfortunately, those chairs are a few items down on my to-do list, so it might be awhile for that purchase.

But, enough with my rambling... Here is a glimpse into my kitchen. I hope you enjoy it! ; )
