Filling Up the Space... Bathroom Style (Part 1)

Since the beginning of Christmas break, I have been tackling small organization projects throughout my house to make extra room for the baby. Two areas that really needed some TLC were my bathroom linen closets. We have two in our house and they both needed to be reorganized.

I had started the whole organization process in these areas this summer, then slacked off once I experienced some morning sickness. Well, I am back on top of it now...Slowly!

I started in my master bathroom closet. Here is a picture of the bottom of the closet:

I am sure you see the same thing that I do... A LOT of wasted space!!! My mom has been helping me prepare for the baby and reorganize my house (since it is hard for me to get it all done by myself), and this has been driving her nuts for weeks. Every time she sees me, she asks if I bought a rack to fill up this space. Well, I FINALLY did!!!

I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a 3-tier wire rack for $19.77, assembled it within 10 minutes, and placed it on the floor of the linen closet. Then, filled the shelves with extra blankets that I was keeping on the end of my bed, beach towels & an iron that I was keeping on the top shelf of the linen closet (see pic below), and toilet paper.

Now, the bottom of my linen closet looks organized and is filled with necessities. And, I have extra space to keep things at the top of my linen closet. Stay tuned to see what items get moved around up there.

  1. My bathroom closet is a disaster... it also lacks a door so everyone gets to see my mess. :(

  2. Just wait until I show you the bottom of my other bathroom closet... YIKES!!! It has gotten so bad that we just throw things in there. Going Friday to buy the rack for that closet.

Have you thought about trying a spring rod and a cute curtain to cover it up? I have done that several times when I haven't had doors on closets.
